Planet Weather for the Week
of March 25, 2007
Next issue of
Planet Weather available and published for April 8, 2007!
SkyWatch – Moon phase of the week: 3/25 -- The Moon
enters her First Quarter phase at 2:16 PM EDT, at 4 degrees Cancer a couple of
hours after moonrise on the U.S. East Coast, when she will be visible high in
the southeastern sky. 3/29 -- For the second time this month, the Moon will
pass just north of Saturn after midnight EDT, with their point of closest
approach coming when both bodies are high in the southern sky and perfect for
viewing! The following night, the Moon will also pass very close to the bright
astrological star (actually a so-called "Royal Star") Regulus, with their point of closest approach coming about
11 PM EDT, when they will be almost directly overhead as seen from the U.S.
East Coast (more to the east farther west), again, in perfect position for easy
viewing. In astrology, Regulus is known as the Heart
of Lion from its location in the constellation Leo and is considered extremely
auspicious, especially for anyone born under this conjunction with the Moon.
Space news of the week: Scientists have succeeded in creating a new form of
telecommunications that uses a process called "quantum entanglement."
Using this method, they were able to send secure messages a distance of 144
miles, a feat previously thought difficult or impossible. This new technique
opens up a whole new realm for secure and reliable communications with
spacecraft and satellites and may even have a bearing on the search for extraterrestrial
intelligence or SETI, a now-respectable if as yet unsuccessful branch of
science.

Knowing when VOC Moons occur
is a key to planning your astrological week!
The Void-of-course (VOC) Moon is
a kind of limbo – as it reaches the end of a sign; the Moon makes no major
aspect to another planet before it enters the next sign. VOC is best for less
outcome-oriented activity, since VOC often means detours, distractions, or
delays. If you want specific outcomes or if timeliness is critical, choose another
time if possible. VOC is best for processing, imagining, creating, and open-ended
activities, like parties, research, or cleaning your desk/closet for instance!
It is said that when a “new” action is initiated during VOC, “nothing will come
of it,” or energies go in unplanned directions, which may not necessarily be
negative.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week, Sunday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday
are the most active energetically and potentially most productive days
(depending on what you’re doing!) The Moon is VOC/Cancer on 3/26/07 – 10:36AM
to 1:04PM EDT the next day 3/27/07 (very long one!) – on
3/29/07 VOC/Leo from 9:23PM to 11:27PM EDT.
Week of 4/1/07: The Moon is VOC/Scorpio
on 4/1/07 – 9:37AM to 11:43AM EDT, on 4/3/07 VOC/Libra – 10:29PM to 12:36AM EDT
the next day 4/4/07, on 4/5/07 VOC/Scorpio – 10:54PM to 12:57PM EDT the next
day 4/6/07..
Mars in fixed, air Aquarius conjunct
(0deg.) Neptune/Aquarius @ 21deg. on Sunday, March 25, 2007 @ 1:40PM EDT. Take a walk in the dreamtime. This highly
imaginative, artistic, creative, unpredictable, or illusory aspect can manifest
in any number of magical, mystical, spiritual, or deceptive ways. This influence
asks you to look into the webwork of your emotional
entanglements and action derived from unclear or precognitive understanding to
uncover the embedded spiritual principles that lurk there. Yes, they are likely
to elude you, but it is your mission (should you decide to accept it) to find
the mystery in the serendipity, symbols, the coincidence, or the déjà vu you
are likely to encounter. Use this energy as a previous invitation from your
soul, your higher self, or from a spiritual source. You can facilitate these
energies by making room for meditation, reflection, or simply some quiet time –
it will allow the insights to arise in you, rather than having them compete
with the din of your everyday hectic schedule. The difference between a dream
and illusion is often very fine indeed.
Mercury passes its Rx Shadow Point on
3/28/07. Mercury
entered the wider arc of its retrograde cycle on 1/30/07, when it reached 25 Aquarius,
the degree at which it later turned direct (on 3/7/07). Mercury passes the
shadow point, reaching the degree at which it originally turned retrograde, 10
Pisces, on 3/28/07. These arcs before and after the technical Rx usually
foretell and resolve, in that order, the issue that was revisited, or matters
revised during the actual Rx. The recent Mercury Rx cycle is now completed and
some resolution or decision reached, internally or externally.
Venus in fixed, earth Taurus sextile
Uranus in mutable, water Pisces @ 15deg. on Saturday, March 31, 2007 @ 4:23AM
EDT. Relationships could use some
spark! So what will you do to breathe new life into a routine you may have
slipped into? This is a perfect day to
gather with your favorite people and enjoy the good things in life – however
you choose to define them! Take your sensuous self on the road to a cozy
B&B – a weekend getaway would be great. Make sure there’s delicious food
available, Venus/Taurus is quite a gourmand. “Sweets for the sweet, sugar for my
honey,” they say is very effective. Even a specially prepared evening at home,
a candlelight dinner maybe, could define this energy.
Pluto in mutable, fire Sagittarius
Stationary Retrograde @ 28 deg. on Saturday, March 31, 2007 @ 6:44PM EDT until
9/7/07. When a heavy-hitter like
Pluto makes a shift in direction, it’s always a potent event, and we can expect
to hear something big in the news – unfortunately, it may be something
devastating or deadly where the Lord of the Underworld is concerned. A retrograde
always indicates a pulling back and a reversal of sorts, the purpose being that
we need to process what has happened to our psyches since the planet last made
a station, which was on 9/5/06. Pluto is the unconscious, the political and
emotional movement that is not clearly seen at all times but the undertow that
we feel nevertheless. Pluto also deals with things in our lives that have great
impact, that we are focused on at present, or that we deeply desire. It is
those things in our lives that are transforming, and they transform because we
pay attention in those areas – sometimes those places are unavoidably on our
radar, and in the cross-hairs. The regions of the world that are in
transformation will express themselves strongly according to their particular
politics around the time of this potent station retrograde.
Highlights for the week of April 1,
2007:
Jupiter/Sagittarius – Stationary Retrograde
@ 19 deg. on Thursday, April 5, 2007 @ 9:24PM EDT until 8/6/07. Jupiter also takes a step back, which is often a good
thing for Jupiter, since it easily goes out of bounds with exuberance and tends
to expand without clear limits. Willing to take risks, Jupiter often gets in
over its head, and yet, it still represents the courage, the irrepressible will
to achieve, to hit its mark, through positivity and
enthusiasm. The retrograde may represent a delay in the area where there was
great promise or opportunity. The best way to handle this is by fine-tuning
your goals and projects.
Mars enters mutable, water Pisces on
Friday, April 6, 2007 @ 4:51AM EDT until 5/15/07. Mars makes a shift and acts in a much more subjective
way in watery Pisces. Mars in this sign is in transition – it is deciding what
it wants to be, or do next, and can be elusive. Highly sensitive and quick to
disappear at the first sign of confrontation, this Mars is not easy to pin
down. This Mars needs sensitivity and understanding and to feel safe. The less
safe it feels, the more it tends to cover its tracks or erect smoke screens. The
sign of the magician, the illusionist, it is also a very perceptive position. In
its effort to determine whether its feelings and sensibilities will be safe, it
has extra sensitive antennae as to the particular emotional condition of
others. The other side of this sensitivity is compassion and understanding of
human frailties.
